The gift-giving season is fast approaching! Layaways are always welcome. Free Gift Wrapping!
The pattern is distinctly art deco; the loose flowing designs of the Victorian and Art Nouveau periods have been corralled into a neat symmetrical design with the multicolored florals interspersed with classic motifs on the banding. Gone are the romantic pastels; the brightly colored stylized florals give us a preview of the designs soon to come in the 30's and 40's. The transfers rest on a backdrop of pale yellow and are enhanced with small hand painted dots of dark orange enamel. The exterior of the bowl was left un-colored and is graced with a simple band and leaf design.
This bone china from England is more substantial than European porcelain with some translucency but surprisingly heavy. The bowl diameter is 4 1/2" and the dimension across the handles is about 6 1/2". The liner plate is slightly over 6" in diameter.
The price is for one set, I have 3 two piece sets with no chips, cracks or crazing, one extra bowl with a small chip and tight hairline (fully usable) and 3 extra liner plates, all in nice condition. Multiple purchases will bring the price down. The shipping rate shown is based on one set.. please inquire.
