Beautiful Large Nippon Milk Pitcher with Hand Painted Roses and Lots of Gold Trim

The teal colored glaze on this nice old Nippon pitcher makes it unusual. The color is a lovely accent to the cream colored base, hand painted pink roses and light green leaves. The heavy gold scrollwork embellishments and beading put this beautiful piece over the top. This graceful fluted shape is typically called a milk pitcher but what a lovely vase this would make.

Measures a little over 7" tall and is 6" in diameter at the base and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing and the painting is still thick and lustrous. There is a relatively small amount of wear to the gold trim around the lip, foot and handle.

The unmarked state of this dates it prior to the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891.
