This fabulous Bisque figure / doll measures 4" . His name is Perry Winkle and is from the famous WINNIE WINKLE comic series. Perry is in outstanding condition!

His Original paint is extremely bright and fresh with only a tiny paint loss on his heel. He is jointed at the shoulders and is marked on his back "Perry Winkle copyright by M.M. Branner Germany.

A little about the comic -- From 1920 on Winnie ( Perry's adopted Sister )- paved the way for all the comic strips about working women that followed.

The comic strip was created by Martin Branner, a former Vaudeville star who decided to go into cartooning after his World War I stint in the military. Branner spent the rest of his career with Winnie Winkle.

Winnie went on to take care of her adopted kid brother, Perry, married, was widowed while pregnant with twins, became a fashion designer to support her family and became one of the best loved and most widely read comic characters of all time.
