This is a great little Whiting and Davis purse, marked with a fabric tag on the interior. It is off white alumesh, which is a large link metal mesh with an enamelled finish for which the company was well known. The bag measures about 8" across, and is fully lined in a dark blue fabric. The frame appears to be celluloid. Grandma at first thought it was bakelite, but has reconsidered the original diagnosis - in other words, she is not 100% sure! The purse is in great condition inside and out, with no tears or stains to the fabric, no noted flaws on the frame. The metal mesh is complete and is in wonderful shape, with just a tiny bit of discoloration in a few spots. Grandma tried to pick up the discoloration in the pictures, but couldn't get it to really show up on the photos.
