$36 USD1940s Black and Clear Cameo Brooch

This pin probably dates to about 1940, It features a black cameo mounted on a carved clear background. The material of the clear portion appears to be lucite, and Grandma is unsure of the material on the center cameo - it seems to also be some sort of plastic, but seems harder than lucite. It is quite a stately piece, measuring a full 3" tall, and it is in very good condition. The clasp is a simple c-clasp.

This necklace nicely combines opposing elements - the sparkle of rhinestones with the silky texture of moonglow beads; the delicate petite stones with large, chunky beads. It features cabochons of Lucite or Thermoset plastic in a light pink color, each surrounded with a darker, almost fuchsia colored row of prong set rhinestones. The setting is gold tone, and has a hook and tail closure. It is in very good condition.

What a pretty little Demi-parure - its a simple beaded bracelet, on memory wire, made of two rows of graduated pink moonglow lucite beads. The matching earrings are screwbacks. The bracelet will likely fit if you normally wear bracelets from 6 - 7 1/2" inches. This set is in good condition, with the findings on the earrings showing a bit of age in the form of a deep patina.

Grandma has quite an assortment of 'granny bead' necklaces and earrings, but is particularly fond of this set because of its very pleasing color combination. The set is made up of glass beads in a variety of light green, light blue, pearlized, and clear colors. The beads also have a nice combination of shapes, sizes, and textures. It has four graduated strands on silvertone findings, and the earrings are a bit over 1" in diameter. Very good condition. .

This is a terrific necklace - simply designed, with great color. The necklace features a center span of bright emerald green rhinestones, bordered with crystal clear rhinestones. All are prong set, and the setting is silvertone. The necklace is 16" in length, and is in very good condition.

This lovely set isn't quite as old as most of Grandma's pieces, dating to the mid 1970s, most likely. But Grandma just fell in love with the absolutely spectacular malachite stone that is the centerpiece of the necklace. It is a deep, rich green, set in a heavy sterling backing. Grandma is happy to offer this unusual necklace and earring demi-parure - it is a pretty combination of faux pearl and green glass beads meant to emulate jade. This pretty, hand crafted pin was an enigma to Grandma when she first picked it up. The stone is really interesting - varying shades of teal with pinks and golds that seemed to be embedded in the middle. The surface texture was a bit rough, almost frosted. Grandma really likes this pretty pin - the design is just plain appealing. Marquise rhinestones are arranged to look like flowers blooming from a branch of baguette stones. It is set in a rhodium plated setting, and is in excellent condition. The rhinestones are very sparkly and clear, and speak to the high quality of this piece. End to end, it measures about 2 1/4" long.

These very elegant rhinestone earrings are marked Boucher, and date to the early 1950s. They appear to be rhodium plate, and the design features baguette and keystone shaped clear rhinestones. These earrings measure about 1" across. They are clip-ons, but have an unusual clip mechanism called "soft touch", and carry the patent number for the clips. Grandma found them to be surprisingly comfortable!

This necklace is a lovely Miriam Haskell creation dating to c. 1955. It can be worn as a choker or lower on the neck, and is striking either way. The faux pearls are woven together into a band that measures a touch under 1/2" wide. Centered on this band is a gold tone ornate bow, studded with faux seed pearls. One of Grandma's favorite colors is purple, so this pretty necklace really caught her eye. It combines a row of opaque light purple cabochon stones over a second row of light amethyst rhinestones, Below this are several rectangular stones in the opaque purple, set at an angle. The opaque stones are swirls of darker and lighter shades, The setting is gold tone, and the closure is hook and tail. This piece is in very good condition.

Its cute. Its sparkly. Its Weiss. That about says it all for this adorable little pin. For those of you that are more detail oriented...this pin measures 1" tall. It has a japanned finish. The rhinestones are red aurora borealis stones. Because of the dark finish, it was difficult to get a picture of the mark, but it is a cartouche with Weiss in capital letters. The back is not textured. Very good condition.

This beautiful bird is a well know book piece made by Coro c. 1940. This piece is just beautiful, encrusted with pave set rhinestones all over his body, and with lovely enameled feathers and flowers. He is in very good condition, with just a touch of enamel loss along one edge of the feathers on his wing. He measures about 3 1/2" high by 1" wide.

This bracelet is a bit of an enigma - it could be from the Arts and Crafts Era - then again, it could be straight out of the 1970s. All Grandma can say for sure that it is hand crafted and quite charming. It is made in sterling silver, and is very solid - a good amount of silver. The design centers on a black cabochon in the center, which may be onyx. It has a maker's mark that reads "TB-136", in addition to indicating silver content of 925. This is a pretty necklace, dating to about the 1940's. It is a single continuous loop, done in seed beads in a light blue-gray color - more blue than gray, in Grandma's opinion. It is very simple, embellished with just a single loop 'tassle' in one spot. It measures 60" in total length, so it can be looped around the neck several times or worn at full length. All the beading is intact, with no fraying in evidence.

This absolutely fabulous bangle bracelet is straight out of the flapper era. The details are impeccable - the sides of the bangle carry an ornate design. The design is reminiscent of highly stylized leaves - or maybe they are just an interesting little form - you decide! The links are flat on the wrist, each half brushed and half with a lined texture. It measures about 7 1/2" long, and secures with a fold-over clasp. Its in terrific condition.

When Grandma first saw this elegant Bogoff pin, she thought it represented a peacock's open tail feathers. Lines of round rhinestones fan out from the center, terminating in a larger marquise stone. Very pretty! It measures about 2" across, and is in a rhodium plated setting. It is in very good condition with all of the stones sparkling and clear. There is one stone that might be beginning to darken on the outer edge, just a tiny bit on one edge. This pin is marked Bogoff.

This is a delicate late 1800s Whitby Jet mourning pin. The design is carved leaves on metal frame, and it secures with a c-clasp. It measures 1 3/4" long. This pin is just lovely, but is slightly wounded. One of the carved leaves is broken - Grandma didn't even notice until she had take pictures and had them full sized on her computer screen! This is indeed a rare find! HAR collectors are familiar with this highly prized pin, which is the face of a sultan complete with a colorful turban. Grandma has also seen this pin referred to a a Genie, and even a King, but she believes he is indeed a Sultan. This demi-parure is a really interesting set. The shape of the pin reminds Grandma of a butterfly, but it is really freeform. The colors are wonderful - the body of the pin and earrings are made up of large marquise rhinestones in a deep blue with an aurora borealis finish.
