Desirable Collectibles gathered for you from throughout Old New England
This combined set while simple in appearance maintains a refined sensibility. The possibilities are many, and it will be of service for many generations to come.
The set is in very nice condition, with only the expected fine surface scratches from normal use and some patina. It will make a lovely serving piece on the table of the most astute hostess.
The creamer is about 3 inches tall, 2 1/4 inches in diameter and weighs 79.2 grams (2.5 troy ounces). The sugar bowl is about 2 inches tall, 2.5 inches in diameter and weighs 77.9 grams (2.5 troy ounces).
The base of the sugar and creamer is marked with STERLING, 9534, and a lion’s head turned to the left, which is the trademark of Redlich & CO. The underplate has the Manchester Silver CO. trademark (cross enclosing the letter M and the crown on the bottom of the cross); STERLING; and number 939.
The Redlich & Co. (New York, NY) was organized in 1890. The Redlich trademark (a lion’s head turned to the left) is still used.
The Manchester Silver Co. was founded in 1887 by William H. Manchester, a descendent of an English family of silversmiths. Their products are sterling silver flatware and hollowware manufactured under the slogan, " If it's Manchester, it's Sterling".
This set was purchased by Tom's from a Hartford area estate. We have only one available, so don't miss the opportunity to purchase it now!
