Weight: about 93.9 grams Size: 5 7/8 inches Made of Sterling Silver Turquoise & Coral Stones Genuine Bear Claw Width: 1 ½ inches

Goodoletom, your best source for fine quality collectibles, the place where "Rarity is Common" is pleased to offer this Native American Sterling Turquoise Coral Bear Claw Cuff Watch Bracelet.

This piece measures approximately 5 7/8 inches by 1 ½ inches. It has an opening of approximately 1 ¼ inches. The bear claw is genuine and measures about 1 ½ inch long and 1 ¼ inch wide at the base. Included are 2 coral stones and 2 turquoise stones. Although there are now markings on the band, we believe this is a Native American piece. It comes with a Timex Quartz Clock and Calendar. The sterling shows a slight patina and shows no signs of damage out of the ordinary, such as polish marks and light surfaces scratches that are common with any sterling piece.

One of the most popular uses of bear claw has been among the Native American people. This is perhaps due to their availability, and also, perhaps more importantly, because of their associated 'medicine qualities'. A hunter may wish to use 'bear medicine power' to help him on the hunt, or in warfare, and so the use of a part of the wolf or a bear gave him contact with the spirit of that animal. Some were often made into a bear claw necklace surrounded by beads, shells, cat claw or wolverine claw. Even feathers from eagles or hawks were used.

Turquoise, according to many South Western Native American tribes, has important talismanic properties. In Europe it was regarded as amulet to protect horse-riders from falling. It’s also the December birthstone.
