The burner has a set of keys to create a removable hinge system so that you can simply tilt and pour without worrying about spilling. The feet on the burner are in the English Ivy style as is often seen on Green Man figures and sculpture.
Weights and measurements are: Burner (24.8 troy ounces, 4" tall) Kettle (40 troy ounces, 9 1/2" tall)
As you can see in the pictures each piece features a series of hallmarks giving information about their origin. On the left is the manufacturer's stamp in the shape of an architect’s compass with the words "Bros LTD" over it. The lion shows that the piece is made in England and the anchor is the symbol for Birmingham England, a sure mark of quality sterling craftsmanship. The letter Y and shape of the marking show that this set was crafted in 1948.
The burner stand piece has: "PATENT 1846 1/12" written on top.
Soon after it opened in 1837, Tiffany's world-famous New York store became a monument to fashion and style, quickly gathering a faithful set of clients with an extra "touch of class." Tiffany still dominates contemporary design, thanks to Louis Comfort Tiffany and other famous designers and artists, such as Jean Schlumberger, Elsa Peretti, and Paloma Picasso.
Now, for over a century and a half, Tiffany & Co. has been known for its exquisite gifts and upscale image. Today, Tiffany operates nearly 130 stores and boutiques around the world. Tiffany's stable of goods includes all manner of jewelry, from earrings to engagement rings. The company also sells crystal, china, sterling silver goods, stationery, personal accessories and fragrances, all carrying the cachet of the Tiffany name.
Tom's purchased this set from a Hartford area estate. We have only one, so buy it now! Make sure to check out all the other pieces of this Tiffany coffee/tea set.
