Jade, the "stone of heaven" has been treasured in Asian and South American Indian cultures for thousands of years. It is a symbol of good fortune in the Far East.
The oval jade cabochon set into our silver pendant is a nice medium tone translucent green. The stone measures about 7 x 9 mm which gives it a nice presence. The pendant dangles from a slightly elongated silver bail and is surrounded by a frame of silver shaped like 2 overlapping squares. The silver is studded with glittering marcasite giving an elegant and sophisticated appearance.
The pendant is in excellent condition with no chips, missing stones, damage or repairs. It measures about 1 1/8 inches long, 5/8 inch wide and weighs 2.5 grams. It is stamped 925 and the name AIX is etched lightly onto the back surface.
