Lovely vintage porcelain powder jar is faux Limoges - a Japanese copy! It is very lovely with a Fragonard-type French Scene fired in decal top of angels and lovers in a garden and decal of flowers inside. The box is painted pink with lots of fired in gold decal decoration. It copies the limoges design even to the metal work! It is marked FD Made in Japan in red on bottom. The lid has been re-glued into the brass frame (it had come loose, but was fine), it does latch (latch is a bit bent) and there is a very tiny flake area - see close up - it is very, very tiny. Some paint wear and manufacturing flaws normal to this type of piece. This is a beautiful box, though not of the best quality, it is good.
