Victorian Flow Blue Ironstone Soap Dish with Drainer C1860 -Hawthorne Pattern

A good Victorian period ironstone pottery soap dish complete with its original drainer and cover, the pieces decorated with a flown blue underglaze blue transferware print of hawthorn blossom. The base is moulded with fat flutings and has a scalloped rim, this shape cleverly reflected in the rim shape of the inside drainer and the domed cover, which is neatly topped with a shaped handle. Marked underglaze blue to base with ribbon and wreath. Size: 4.5" high to top of handle x 6" wide.

Condition: Very good, there is no damage. There is a little glaze crackle to the underside of the base which is characteristic of this type of pottery, commensurate with age.
