Butter or Cheese Crystal Covered Dish, A Real Beauty!

This is the prettiest of vintage crystal high domed covered dish in the pin wheel design. It is Early American pressed glass and can be used for butter or cheese. The plate is 7 3/4" across and has a saw tooth design around a scallop edge. There is an interior rim that keeps the lid in place. The lid is 5 1/2" across the bottom and when put into place, the set stands 5 1/2" tall.

It is in perfect condition and the only thing I could find would be considered a manufacturing flaw. On the top of the rim of the plate, it looks like there was a bubble in the glass and since it is right at the top of the rim it created a tiny hole in the glass. It is not a chip. You can look from either side of the rim and not see an indentation. There also is a line in the inside of the lid near the handle that was manufactured into the glass.

When I first saw it at the estate sale, I thought it was cut glass as it has all the beauty and sparkle, but on closer examination, I could see the molding lines on either side. It quite heavy thick glass.
