We have been in business since 1997 offering a wide variety of antiquarian and collectible books and paper items.
Century Magazine is such fun to read due to its vast variety of topics and genres. Fiction, poetry, art, and articles on the most eclectic of topics make it always a surprise. This hardbound, massive volume contains all the issues from May through October with a great number of illustrations, including some color plates. It is the original bound edition from 1909.
As you can see from the photos, the book is in very clean solid condition. There is a bend at the spine due to the weight of the heavy pages and a number written on both the title page and the index page, but otherwise it is clean as a whistle with no names or writing to the marbled grey endpapers.
There's way to much content to list of course, but some of the highlights include articles about Edgar Alan Poe's child wife; Shackleton and the South Pacific; the growing trend of divorce; diamonds; college songs; the second adminstration of Grover Cleveland; and -- the best --Fulton's invention of the steamboat including his own accounts in letters and manuscripts previously unpublished and replete with drawings and photos.
Book weighs almost 4 lbs. unwrapped.
