"A Small Harvest" Pastel Painting by Renowned Michigan Artist Irene Wordhouse

Irene Wordhouse is an accomplished artist who has won many awards and uses pastels to recreate places she has been to and people she has met or seen, in our Great Lakes State of Michigan.

The pastels that Irene has sold through our shop, have been praised and referred to highly by the new owners of her beautiful work. We are pleased that she has introduced several more pastels for your pleasure.

In her own words the artist gives you a brief description of this fabulous piece:

I had just picked some of our tomatoes. It was a warm Summer evening, and the sun was low in the sky. After putting the tomatoes in a glass pie plate, I went in the house and got some green grapes I had bought earlier that day, went into the garden and picked some small white zinnias and made a still life arrangement. Next, I placed the plate on an ancient yellow lawn chair with its back to the setting sun and took some photographs. I had a great time painting this still life. It was accepted into several juried art shows and is now available for purchase.

This painting is matted in off-white in an antiqued gold wood frame with gold beading and is under Plexi-Glass.
