Outstanding 1926 Glass Top Serving Tray/Under Layer Of Bronze & Gold Colors With Polychrome Finished Edges & Handles

This is so stunning and we could just not get the pictures just right to show off the true beauty of this tray. Under the glass area it is painted in bronze and shining brushed gold. The edges are in 3 layers having a smooth gold outer frame, next is a polychrome with carved flora in golds, blues, rust, and greens, another layer of textured wood in gold, then the top area another smaller strip of the polychrome flora work. There are brass handles on each end with the fantastic polychrome design and colors. Inside the tray on the frame area, closest to the glass, it is painted gold.

The tray is in really fine to excellent condition with some areas of missing color that is really hard to see and would be expected in a piece this old. The handles are tight, the glass has no scratches, chips, or cracks and the under area with the bronze & gold finish has no damage. The back still retains some of the original black paper backing with two areas, one a typed label with PATENTED August 3, 1926, the other is cursive hand writing of a partial name. The tray is 13 1/4" x 17 1/4", perfect for breakfast in bed, a serving tray, or one to showcase pretties on. Very sound, stable tray that still can be used with ease today.
