About Us

Funky can be defined as “Unconventionally Stylish”. It is my goal that each piece of jewelry that I design and create is unconventional, yet stylish.

I have been designing and creating jewelry for several years now. I lived in Ohio for a number of years and during that time I could not wait for spring, summer, and fall to arrive so I could sell my creations at local fairs, festivals, etc. Then I moved to Florida. What a delightful place! We lived in South Florida near South Beach, Coconut Grove, and the Florida Keys. There were fairs, festivals, craft shows, and art shows going on nearly every weekend. I was never without a venue to sell my wares. Then in 2004 we moved to Southern California. It’s beautiful here and the weather is nice, but everything is so spread out. Most of the events where I could sell my creations are too far to drive for a one day sale. Then I learned about Ruby Lane. I opened my Ruby Lane Shop in May of 2009. In the few short months since I opened my shop I have sold several of my handcrafted jewelry creations. It is really exciting to be able to sell my designs all over the United States, from the comfort of my home studio. I live on a lake and have a small studio in my home. When I need a break, I just get a cup of coffee or tea and go
out to the patio and watch the humming birds.

I always strive to find the best quality materials to use in my designs. I want every piece of my jewelry to last for a lifetime. Each piece is different, but may contain some of the following materials: precious metals, precious and semi-precious gemstones, copper, antiqued brass, Swarovski Crystals, artisan created lampwork glass, fine silver, sterling silver, wood and bone beads, shell beads, mother of pearl and more. The list is almost endless. In some of my designs, I even incorporate some vintage or antique materials.
