The Western Electric 202 telephone was the first widely distributed Bell System phone that adopted the use of a single handset. This is a totally original working phone in excellent condition. It has been adapted with a standard modern day modular type plug. The phone is ready to plug into your wall jack however it contains only the switchhook and switch, there is no bell or bell box included with this phone. The body is metal with an oval shaped base. The bottom is covered with brown suede leather. Labeled on the back with “D1” and “Western Electric Made in USA Patent 1508484 pat Pending”.
