Here is a trio of antique French postcards used to promote various newspapers: La Petite Republican, Le Petit Journal and La Lanterne. Each card features the photography of H. Manuel. At the turn of the century, there were less than a half-dozen photographers who really made a name for themselves in the postcard world and Manuel was one of them (along with Reutlinger, Stebbing and Walery). The undivided back dates these cards to 1903 or earlier. For their age, they show minimal wear: tack marks and one torn corner. Use the zoom feature to examine them closely and you'll see what fine quality they are more than 100 years later! Note: when you look at the photos upon first opening the listing -- that's how the cards will look holding them in your hand with the naked eye. When you zoom in, every speck and spot inherent to the printing will show up -- it's like looking at the cards under a jeweler's loupe. However, you'll also see that these cards have NO creases!
