The postmark has long faded on this cute French postcard, but the undivided back dates this card for us: printed in 1903 or earlier! This harlequin figure is a hard-to-find card -- especially hard to find in good condition with its light colored background. This card is not perfect but all things considered, a real treasure. This is an exceptional trio of antique postcards. Postmarked 1903, 1906 and 1907, any signs of wear seem inconsequential for their age. The card of the lady in the chair "Caprice" is almost mint. The woman with the beautiful decollete "De Dio" has silvering at the edges and a light crease at the bottom right corner. These two postcards are a bit of a mystery to me. I can't tell what is framing this woman. It looks to be either some type of flower (a thistle?) or Peacock feathers! The back of the cards say "Carte Postale" but there's not the typical address lines and stamp delineation. Unused, I'm not sure of the date except to say definitely pre-1914 and with no lines at all on the back, I lean toward dating them to 1903 or earlier. Signs of wear inconsequential considering their age. No creases. Minor specks, spots inherent to the printing. A bon marche for this trio!

This is a real photo postcard that has been color tinted by hand. It is unused and overall in mint condition (circa 1904-1918). The only 'blemish' to this card is a printing issue: the fact that the demarcation lines from the back of the postcard have bled through to the front. Hence, there are three 'shadow' strips visible in the brim of the woman's hat. Otherwise, this card is so pristine, you'd think it was printed yesterday! It's unbelievable.

The real photo postcard of Kitty Tranney is almost mint. It shows some surface wear visible when held at an angle and there's a nick in the white border edge. Notice that both of these cards feature the fine photography of Reutlinger. The second card with the unusual background has a creased top left corner. Postmarked 1906! Any signs of wear irrelevant for their age -- and their beauty isn't marred at all:)

Here is another real photo postcard featuring the fashion statement of turn-of-the-century Paris: hats! I'm assuming this is ostrich feathers ... The postmark is not legible, but I feel confident in dating this card to 1904-1918. I have examined it under a jeweler's loupe and the quality is impeccable. The only signs of age are normal corner tips and the silvering of the dark background around the edges. The Edwardian beauty herself is perfect; sweet color tinting by hand.
