9 French ILLUMINATED Script Vintage cards Prayer, Hymn, Proverbs

$25 USD9 French ILLUMINATED Script Vintage cards Prayer, Hymn, Proverbs

Collectibles:Paper
These are not actually postcards, but I got them a few years ago from one of my postcard dealers in France. They measure about 5.5 by 3.75 inches (a quarter-inch wider than antique postcard size.) One is written on; the rest are all unused, blank on the back. I don't know the age of these cards. My guess is that these could be from the 1960s or newer. I am offering all together, all 9 of them, at a bon marche. If you don't read French and want help in translating them, I suggest Yahoo's Babel ...
SALE Vintage French PERFUME labels (12) Green

$15 USD SaleSALE Vintage French PERFUME labels (12) Green

Collectibles:Vanity Items:French Perfume Labels
The accent is on green in this batch of original French perfume labels. Most of my labels are from the 1930s and '40s, but I think the huge green striped label could even be as old as the 1920s. It's such a strong Art Deco geometric design (it measures 4-1/2 by just over 3-1/4 inches!) The Violette Mauve label with the ferns and violets in the gold leaf vase is just beautiful. The scan doesn't do it justice. The stand, the bowl, the line border, and highlights within the ferns and violets are ...

This can be two more $5 sale items or whatever, but your minimum purchase total must be $15. Otherwise, the item is the regular listed price. There are only two labels in this set, but they are huge! The oval "Tigre" label measures 4-1/2 by 3-1/4 inches. All of my labels came from France. These are originals and I only have 4 sets of this pair available. I'm not ...
SALE French PERFUME labels (7) Blues

$10 USD SaleSALE French PERFUME labels (7) Blues

Collectibles:Paper:French Perfume Labels
These are original vintage French perfume labels dating to the 1930s and '40s. Some of the labels are in mint condition and some show a little sign of wear. The unifying color is blue! For size perspective, the Eau de Cologne with the blue/gray and pink flowers measures about 3-1/4 by 4-1/4 inches. My favorite label is the smaller version of the woman's profile with the red flower. Notice that on this label the hair is a silver highlight (like gold leaf but in silver). Its larger version has the ...
SALE French PERFUME labels: Reds (11)

$10 USD SaleSALE French PERFUME labels: Reds (11)

Collectibles:Paper
The accent is on red in this batch of original French perfume labels, circa 1930s and '40s. For size perspective, the Imperial Russe measures 2-3/4 by 3-3/4 inches. My favorite is the Eau de Cologne Rodyls of Paris with the big red rose! It measures just over 2-1/4 inches by 2 inches. Overall, these labels are in mint condition. Some might should a tad of wear, a creased corner tip or such. In this batch, the Eau de Cologne with the flame stitch red leaf-like design has a ripple in it. But ...

This can be two more $5 sale items or whatever, but your minimum purchase total must be $15. Otherwise, the item is the regular listed price. These labels are part of leftover stock I bought from a Frenchman -- about 7,000 labels total! I have many of these two labels which are different and yet the same! The die lots are different but both bear the gorgeous art ...
SALE French PERFUME labels (2) Fleurs d'Oranger Louis Plouviez Paris

$5 USD SaleSALE French PERFUME labels (2) Fleurs d'Oranger Louis Plouviez Paris

Collectibles:Vanity Items:French Perfume Labels
This is one of my favorite little sets of perfume labels. The design is just so delicate with the pastel green and gold leaf. Most of my perfume labels are from the '30s and '40s but I believe these labels are older because the design is quite Art Nouveau. The larger label measures almost 1-3/4 by 2-1/4 inches. These labels are in overall mint condition. Fine print in the white border says Louis Plouviez, Paris.
French PERFUME labels: Black, white, red set of 7

$10 USDFrench PERFUME labels: Black, white, red set of 7

Collectibles:Vanity Items:French Perfume Labels
One can't get more classic than the black, white and red combination. That's what this batch of perfume labels is all about. The huge Eau de Cologne Superieure, Parfumeur Paris label at top right measures just over 4-1/2 by 3-1/4 inches. Most of these labels are in mint condition. Some show the slightest signs of wear. The "au boa" label has some yellowing at the edges and the red accented rectangular Eau de Cologne has ripples and a water stain. These labels are great to give as gifts: mat and ...
Original PARROT stamp collage Artist Signed French American British

$85 USD Offers ConsideredOriginal PARROT stamp collage Artist Signed French American British

Collectibles:Stamps
This is a rare and unique piece of ephemera. I can't really call it a postcard. As you can see, the back is blank. No 'carte postale' design. But it is a postcard-size piece of art, an original collage, artist signed. From what I can make out on the stamps, I see French ones, George Washington's profile and "two penny." So that makes this an international work of art. Truly a real treasure for the stamp collector. I am not sure of the dating of this item. One stamp is clearly postmarked 1913, ...

French postcard Art Deco GLITTER Die cuts

$32 USD Offers ConsideredFrench postcard Art Deco GLITTER Die cuts

Collectibles:Art Deco
This style of postcard was particularly popular in the Art Deco decades, on through into the 1940s. This card is written on but not dated or stamped, so I'm not certain exactly how old it is, but from the real photo in the center, I'd say 1925-1935.Some of the glitter has come off at the bottom edge; otherwise, near mint original condition. Very kitschy! These cards are hard to come by and are tres cher!
1975 First Day Cover FRENCH envelope stamp EYES The Look

$8 USD1975 First Day Cover FRENCH envelope stamp EYES The Look

Collectibles:Stamps
Ok, the eyes on each side of the woman's flowing hair rather freak me out....but I love the design of everything else. As I have mentioned in other listings, my specialty is turn of the century postcards, but my treasure hunting led me to first day cover postcards and now... first day cover envelopes. This is such a powerful image -- the eyes, the polka dots -- and the "pixelated" look of the single eye of the 2 franc stamp. Dated June 9, 1975. Some folks call that vintage. I call it 'right ...
SALE French GRASSE perfume label: woman with Peacock

$10 USD SaleSALE French GRASSE perfume label: woman with Peacock

Collectibles:Vanity Items
This is a little perfume label that makes a big impression. This is an original Grasse perfume label from the SA Tombarel Brothers (Freres) with a gorgeous design of a woman and peacock. The border and the peacock's tail have gold leaf on them. Bright vivid colors. In mint condition for its age (which, I believe is early 1900s, but don't quote me on that.) I have come across this label only 2-3 times; it is hard to find! It measures 2 inches by 1-3/8 inches. For the serious perfume label ...
(4) ART DECO Flapper 1930s French postcards Real Photo hand painted

$60 USD Offers Considered(4) ART DECO Flapper 1930s French postcards Real Photo hand painted

Collectibles:Art Deco
Dates on three of these cards are 1930 and 1932. The black background with the gold overlay of a design around a real photo painted by hand became very popular in the Art Deco decades, from the 1920s to the '30s. Monotone cards in blue, maroon, purple and even orange were also very popular. Here is one in a hot pink/purple. Overall, these cards are in near excellent condition for their age. The black background cards show silvering on the edges. All the cards show age on the edges and corner ...
11 HOLIDAY postcards St Patrick's Thanksgiving July 4th Antique, vintage

$45 USD11 HOLIDAY postcards St Patrick's Thanksgiving July 4th Antique, vintage

Collectibles:Holiday, Seasonal
My specialty is French postcards, but when a co-worker offered me an entire album of American postcards, I couldn't resist. From that collection, here are 11 holiday postcards celebrating Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day and the Fourth of July. Several of these cards are in near mint condition. No creases or tears. Use the zoom lens and examine them. I think you will be impressed. Any signs of wear are minimal considering their age. One St. Paddy's card has lines on it (residual from stamp ...
Antique French NEWSPAPER postcard La Patrie Edwardian gentleman

$16 USDAntique French NEWSPAPER postcard La Patrie Edwardian gentleman

Collectibles:Advertising
This is an unused antique French postcard, an advertisement for La Patrie. The gentleman in the photo was perhaps the editor of the paper? He reminds me of Sigmund Freud:) The undivided back dates the printing of the card to pre-1903. There are surface marks on the light background and very minor signs of wear. However, considering its age -- with no creases -- it is in overall very good condition!
3 Antique French NEWSPAPER postcards real photo Victorian girls

$45 USD3 Antique French NEWSPAPER postcards real photo Victorian girls

Collectibles:Advertising
Here is a trio of antique French postcards used to promote various newspapers: La Petite Republican, Le Petit Journal and La Lanterne. Each card features the photography of H. Manuel. At the turn of the century, there were less than a half-dozen photographers who really made a name for themselves in the postcard world and Manuel was one of them (along with Reutlinger, Stebbing and Walery). The undivided back dates these cards to 1903 or earlier. For their age, they show minimal wear: tack marks ...
1936 ROMANTIC French Greeting Card Hand painted Glitter Ribbon

$32 USD1936 ROMANTIC French Greeting Card Hand painted Glitter Ribbon

Collectibles:Paper
I didn't dare try to open this card all the way to scan the inside -- so I'll just describe it to you. The photo you see is on the front of a bi-fold piece of onion paper. On the inside is printed a 4-line poem in French. As you can see from the scans, this is an adorable greeting card (the size of an antique postcard, about 5.5 by 3.5 inches). Hand painted, glitter, a pink bow! What's even better is the sweet message written on the back, sent in 1936. Raymond writes, "This card will be the last ...
1982 EIFFEL Tower first cover Stamp postcard Gustave Eiffel

$30 USD1982 EIFFEL Tower first cover Stamp postcard Gustave Eiffel

Collectibles:Stamps
This is a first cover postcard featuring the Eiffel Tower and the man himself, Monsieur Gustave Eiffel. The stamp was issued to honor Mr. Eiffel (1832-1923) in 1982 and as you can see in the cancellation mark, it says "Dec. 18, 1982, First Day." I love these first day covers with the stamp and coordinating postcard design. This is an unused postcard with the slightest of wear on the top left corner edge. Overall, near mint condition. It is modern postcard size: 4-1/8 by 5-3/8 inches. A real ...
