I believe that it originally had a powder puff with a cigarette-shaped handle that would come out of her mouth. Wonderfully crazed from age, this flapper vanity box is a real conversation piece. As can be seen in one of the photos, there are a couple of spots along the rim of the lid that appear to be chipped. These are not rough, therefore, I believe these are not chipped, but manufactured that way. There is some color fading along one side of the box. Despite this, this is an unusual and fun dresser jar.

This box measures 5” long, 3” wide, and 2” high and can store other items. I’ve used it for Q-Tips (Cotton Buds).This box is marked Made in Japan.
