1920's Rare Flapper Boudoir Bed Doll - Marked Modèle Déposé

This 24” French, or German-made doll is a rare find. This particular doll is photographed in the book, "Magic and Romance of Art Dolls" by Stephanie Farago. Her shoe sole is marked “Modèle Déposé” which is French for “Registered Design”. She is listed as German in the Farago book, but because she seems to have been registered in France, I consider her French.

Regardless, she is mostly original, cloth, with only a replaced, yet vintage, stocking on her right leg. She is missing her garter on that leg. Her left cloth ankle is “broken”, however, her original stocking, with flowered ‘garter’, supports the fault.

She is missing silk off her face, but she retains her flapper face paint. Her original outfit is all felt. There is fading, and there is a piece missing along the right side of her hem. Her coat covers this when displayed. Speaking of display, she makes a great one!
