Antique Paden City Crystal Console Set Etched / Black gold overlay embossed trim

Dating from the Early 1900’s, this candlestick and console bowl set is somewhat of a rarity. It’s very old and extremely difficult to find all three pieces together. With no chips or cracks, either.

Stunning set of antique ribbed candlesticks in crystal glass having trumpet shaped bottoms feature a cut ovoid shaped flower design on either side of each candlestick. The ribs have been cut into the glass forming panels between sets of 3 cuts.

Bottom gold floral and leaf border is the Cosmos pattern. Gold overlay ornate pattern band has been done over black giving them a more defined look. Black border extends around the base at the upper part of the pattern.

Candlesticks are 8.25 in height and have a bottom diameter of 4.75”. Candle rim is 2.75” in diameter. As shown in red there is a very small area that either has a stain or is within the glass itself. Pretty hard to notice unless you are looking for it. Last photo shows this area.

The matching crystal console bowl is a glorious representation of elegance from the past. It features the same Cosmos gold overlay design over ebony banding.

The vertical rib pattern repeats itself on three sides of the bowl. Each large pattern section consists of eighteen sets of three vertical cuts going around the bowl. If my math is correct that6 is 162 vertical cuts. Wow!

Three wonderfully cut flower design separate the vertical etched bands.

The inner rim of black on the bowl has lost most of its glossiness and if you look very closely you can see some wear to the black on the outside rim.

Bowl also has a lovely footed or pedestal bottom that simply adds to its elegance.

Glass itself has a very minimal amount of wear. You have to look very close under bright light to notice any at all.

Bowl has a ground and polished bottom showing normal signs of wear. There is one small area on the bottom of the bowl that I first thought was a chip. However due to its location, (not being near an edge) shape and smoothness, I believe it occurred during manufacture.

Bowl measures 4”in height and 11.75” across. The bottom has a 3.5” diameter.

Each item is carefully wrapped with foam and bubble wrap and boxed individually. These three cartons are packed in one large carton to assure their safe arrival.
