This fabulous, vintage set consists of 11 small figural bone place card holders for the dinner table. The pieces are intricately carved and painted and measure approximately 1" to 1 1/2" in total height. They each have a double screw eye type of metal to hold the name cards. They are stamped "Austria" on the bottom. They are in excellent, vintage condition with no damage. I noticed - with a 20x loupe - that there is one rhinestone glass eye missing from 2 of the pieces. I did not see this until my close inspection. The set is c. 30's or '40's, I believe. There is one piece missing from the set. They come with the original box that reads in part "Guaranteed Vienna handworked Gourmand Placecards....." The box is in fair condition with the binding being taped and general wear but, a great set to find...nearly complete.
