This incredible vanity or dresser set is completely intact and in its original suitcase style box. The set is hallmarked and, from what I can find, I believe it was made in Birmingham, England and it is .925 (sterling) silver. The hallmarks are: a set of initials, an anchor, a lion and the letter "O" in a shield shape. The set is in absolutely pristine condition. There is a hand mirror, a large hair brush, a clothing brush and a tortoise shell comb. Each piece is hallmarked the same way. The hand mirror measures 11" in length with a beveled mirror in mint condition. The hair brush measures 9" in length and is also in mint condition. The clothing brush is nearly 6" in length - perfect. The comb is 7" in length and also perfect. Each piece has beautiful guilloche enameling wtih budgies or parakeets. The colors are gorgeous! I can see absolutely no damage to the enameling - there are no chips, cracks, dings or other damage. The silver on each piece is in excellent condition. I have not polished it but left it as found. Each piece has its custom fitted position in the case. The lid is lined inside with creme colored, gently gathered satin in excellent condition. The pieces rest on black velvet that is all intact and excellent. There is a small tag on the front of the box that reads "Made in England". I am not sure of the age on this. I was not able to figure that out exactly but I am quite sure it is not new. The suitcase style custom box is sturdy and intact. It is made of pebbled leather that is in very good to excellent condition with some signs of age and light wear. The lower part of the box front also folds down to allow easier access to the gorgeous contents inside! This is truly a gorgeous set in impeccable condition. I can find no problems at all.
