Monkey Toothpick Holder Primitive

This very unusual and interesting primitive monkey toothpick is unglazed pottery. The monkey has a very realistic face and is well modeled with excellent detail. The drum shaped holder that he is holding, has a rope decoration. I found him in England many years ago and he has been part of my own collection ever since. I was never able to date him, but he definitely is an old piece, probably early 1900s. He measures 3 ½” wide, 1 ¼” front to back, and 2” tall, and is in excellent original condition.
