Nineteenth century wash bowl with wide purple spatter border, and central transfer of South American cowboys. A group of cowboys rope in a bull, while one appears to be biting its tail. Costumes and palm trees indicate a more exotic location than the American west. Smooth-paneled shape with slightly rolled rim. A nice big piece for your corner cupboard. No maker’s mark, probably 1860’s.
Size: Approximately 14.25” diameter, 4.25 high.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Some glaze skips and stray areas of color on reverse during manufacture.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
