This pink luster and transfer creamer with sentimental scenes was made in Staffordshire, circa 1840. The transfer on one side shows a child, the other transfer shows a mother and child, with the title “The Mother” below. This was part of a series, “The Orphans”, and other items in this series show “The Mother’s Grave”. This creamer is not as depressing as that, but it is remarkable to realize how much death was accepted in those days – to the point of having it on your tea-wares. Unmarked, save for an illegible impressed number (probably a shape number). Size: Approximately 5.375” to top of handle; 6” overall length. Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs. Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.

Item ID: 1302
