Brown and white Staffordshire transferware plate circa 1835. Moral Maxims by Jackson. Classical landscape in center, border of ribbons with various moral sayings; three scenes representing knowledge and industry. Backstamp has manufacturer and pattern names. This would provide diners with moral education during meals. Now we have television. Size: Approximately 9.25” diameter Condition: Excellent. Some tiny chips on foot rim and a couple of discolored spots on reverse, minor wear at some edge points, No other chips, cracks or repairs. Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.

Item ID: 1083
