This is the full eight plate set of Hamilton Collection's 1988 "The Proud Nation" series. The collection was done by the artist Ray Swanson. Each plate is trimmed in 23K gold and measures 8 1/2" across.

Collectors from all over the world seek out the art of Ray Swanson. He depicts both the native peoples and their way of life with tenderness and dignity. His style is considered as representational, with every detail clearly visible. Over the years, Ray has chronicled traditional ways of life in both Europe and Asia, but he is still most noted for his spiritual and emotional depictions of the Native Americans of the Southwest. His awards are numerous: in 1979, he was named Arizona Artist of the Year and in 1986 was voted into membership of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America. He is also a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Association of Western Art. Ray is also a published author with his recent book, 'The Art of Ray Swanson – Celebrating People and Lifestyles'.

The plates in this collection are: Dressed Up For The Pow Wow, Newest Little Sheepherder, Out With Mama's Flock, In A Big Land, Autumn Treat, Just A Few Days Old, Navajo Little One, and Up In The Red Rocks. The plates do not have their original boxes, but all are in perfect condition!

As you know it is quite difficult to come up with complete collections and it has taken me awhile to come up with these! Each of these plates are booking at $85.00 at this time.
