The Eisenberg 'Early Wire Tree Pin' with 3 green and 3 red rhinestones and a band of 6 clear rhinestones around the top, all prong set is pictured on page 48 of "Christmas Tree Pins, O Christmas Tree', by N. Yunker Trowbridge, copyright 2002.
There are obvious differences between the original 1950s piece and 1999 version... -The color: the yellow gold of the original version is a favorite of ours. -The size: the hanging base is longer on the original, than the newer version...ad the top is tear drop shaped on the original, not circular. -The marking: the original is unmarked, it was sold with a paper tag, the 1999 version is marked Eisenberg Ice.
This style Christmas Tree pin is sometimes referred to as a bird's nest pin because of the style of wiring.
Tidbit from the Cove: Although one of the earliest jewelry makers, Eisenberg did not design Christmas pins until the early 1950s. Eisenberg has always had the reputation of being the 'best of the best' in jewelry houses.
From 1985 - present, Eisenberg Christmas Jewelry pieces are signed 'Eisenberg Ice' in script letters with the copyright symbol. The signature is on an applied oval cartrouche.
Please email us with any questions you might have. This is a true collector's piece, one to keep for generations to come!
