This is a beautiful set of 4 Landers Frary & Clark Mother of Pearl and Sterling Silver Banded Fruit Knives from about 1875-1900. This is a set of 4 Individual Fruit Knives have a Sterling Silver Band with ornate design around Mother of Pearl Handles by Landers, Frary & Clark. They are 6 " long and the "STERLING" marked ferrules are very tight. The blades are silver plated I because of the acidic content of the fruit . This set of Fruit Knives is believed to be from 1875 - 1900. The knives measure 6" in length. There is a band below the Mother of Pearl handles about 3/4" with a floral design. The word Sterling is around the band below the M.O.P. handles. The blades are marked "Landers, Frary & Clark AETNA WORKS" The blades are silver plated. They made silverware from 1866-1950 in New Britian and Conn. During WWI they supplied aluminum mess kits and canteens to the soldiers. It is said that Landers, Frary & Clark were the King of Knives.
