This is vintage, cast iron, 3 legged, iron trivet. It has the words,"Enterprise Mfg. Co., Phila. U.S.A. are embossed on the top on this SAD IRON trivet used in the 1800's to hold those old hot ironing pressing irons. Ironing used to be a heavy and unpleasant task years ago.(it isn't much fun now!) The old irons were HOT and heavy and these trivits were a place to set these old sad irons safely and within reach of the Ironer.
