From the Berlin collection of Grafin Bismark, a photograph of Russian Emperor Alexander II by Downey of London, photographer to the British Court. Photograph is 4 ¼ inches by 6 ½ inches. Provenance: The Byington Collection, which is acknowledged in: “Tsar: The Lost World of Nicholas & Alexandra” by Peter Kurth (p. 223); and “Olga Romanov: Russia’s Last Grand Duchess” by Patricia Phenix (p. 296), by direct descent from Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna.
