Another exquisite miniature portrait. Hand-painted on ivory, the portrait is of a woman wearing a black dress with a large white collar. Portrait is enclosed in an oval silver frame 2” x 2 ½” with a circular suspension ring. Curved glass front. Engine-engraved back with an empty oval reserve in upper section (probably held human hair, backed by glass), with engraved reserve below: “M. Ann Rhodes / April 1, 1845.”
