Signed Porcelain Oscar & Edgar Gutherz O&EG Royal Austria Autumn Leaf Plate

This very old 8-3/4" scalloped plate from Austria has a most unusual scene of colorful Autumn leaves. This plate is an eye catcher because there aren't any flowers on it. There is a tendency to study it longer to comprehend exactly what is being pictured. The blending together of all the colors is just incredible! The plate is marked "Hand Painted" on the back but the leaf scene itself is an incredible transfer print. There are hand painted raised highlights on each leaf and a thick gold outer trim. The central area of the plate is white which blends into a pale cream behind the leaves. There is a green wreath mark on the back with "O.& E.G. Royal Austria". This mark was used from 1899 until 1918 so it is very likely an antique; if not yet, it soon will be! It stands for Oscar & Edgar Gutherz. The plate is also signed with the artists name on the front "Raymond". It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are some minor specks of wear to the leaf scene, a small amount of light scratches, minor gold trim wear and a small area to one edge of the leaf scene which didn't quite transfer properly but all of this is very minor. The plate displays beautifully as you can see!
