If you are a collector or owner of the Coronation silver plate silverware pattern made by Oneida Community in 1936, then you will just love this! In the 1930's, Oneida made matching silverplated hollowware to match their most popular patterns and Coronation was one of them. It is so very hard to find! Many people who own the silverplate flatware never knew that there was matching china, crystal and holloware to match! This listing is for the large water pitcher and it even has the ice lip! The body of the pitcher is smooth on the top half, gracefully arching outwards to the mid point with a fluted bottom half. The ornate raised band around the top of the pitcher corresponds to the pattern on the Coronation silverware. Although the Coronation pattern was introduced to commemorate the crowning of King Edward VIII in England (which never did happen), you can see the art deco influence in this pattern with the shape of the handle and the well defined 'crease' around the center of the body of the pitcher. The flatware was also marketed in Canada and Great Britain, where it is known by the name Hampton Court. The pitcher measures 8-1/2" tall at the handle and 6-1/2" wide at the half where the fluting starts. It is fully marked on the bottom. If you are interested in this pattern, I also have some porcelain Community China to match! Just email to inquire! #91012

CONDITION:

This pitcher is in excellent, clean condition! It has been freshly and gently hand polished and has been found to have no silver plate loss. There are some tiny scratches in a few spots that are only seen if you turn the pitcher sideways in a strong light and examine. Also, one other very minor thing: a small rounded depression on the lower section of the pitcher on the front side (spout side); it is no bigger than the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil and is not noticed at all unless turned into the light and examined. This pitcher is in beautiful condition and you will not be disappointed!
