Udall & Ballou Art Deco 1920 Silver Picture Frame

Rare and impressive survivor from the past! This quality picture frame was made by the famous New York silver company Udall & Ballou, one of the finest jewelers of the 20th century. The company was started in 1888 and continued operations until WWII. They were upscale jewelers and retailers of sterling ware and objet d'art. They were in the same circle as Tiffany and Cartier. They had shops in Palm Beach, Florida, Newport, and Rhode Island. This Art Deco frame was made with an exquisite enameled sterling silver. It has a beautiful octagonal shape which is adorned with guilloche style enamel in jewel tones of pink and white. Brass star shaped elements are contained within the enameling. Comes with its original framed insert to hold your cherished picture. The frame measures 3-1/2" wide by 5" tall with clasp. The silver clasp has some minor enamel loss. The frame is in excellent shape with no damage. Hallmarked "Sterling Udall & Ballou" on the bottom of the frame. A fine rare piece!
