Brown Nautiloid Tilso Cat w/ Kittens Ashtray, Label

This ashtray by Tilso, a Japanese company, resembles the shell of a nautilus or a leaf. The outer portion is a rich chocolate brown, while the interior seems to burst with radiating shades of brown, cream, and white. The mother cat poses on one side of the ashtray and five kittens parade along the other side (photo 4). There's even a small chain that must have once linked all the kittens together because they have small wires under their chins (photo 5). The faces of the cat and kittens were hand-painted. The ashtray is 8-1/4" long, 6" wide, and 3" high. The mother cat's tale has been broken and repaired (photo 3), otherwise there are no chips, flakes, or cracks. The Tilso gold foil label is on the bottom of the ashtray (photo 8).
