I have no positive ID for this hand-blown amber bowl, but I'm guessing that it was made by one of the many excellent U.S. companies that produced fine glass during the 20th century. On the basis of its style, I think it belongs to the 1950s or 1960s. It has a nice, evenly crimped rim and an attached pedestal base. What makes this bowl somewhat unusual is the bottom, which isn't rounded, like most of this style; it tapers from about 2'-3" in diameter to 1", where the pedestal was joined to it. It stands 6" high and the rim is 10.5" across. The pontil isn't polished, but it indicates a neat separation of the hot glass. Aside from a loose bubble in the base, typical of hand-blown glass, it's in mint condition.
