This nice large Bischoff art glass pitcher is pre-1963, the year when the family sold the firm. It's identified as #257M (next to a larger version) on a catalog page reproduced in Leslie Pina's Crackle Glass in Color: Depression to '70s (p. 25), and it's a beautiful shade of amber, one of the popular colors for home decorating in the mid-20th century. The pitcher is 9" high, about 18" in circumference, and the rim is 3.5" x 2.5". The handle is attached, the top of it right at the pitcher's rim, with a tight curl given to the end. The pontil is rough, but there's very little wear on the base so this pitcher was well cared for. It still has its black-and-silver oval foil label on the side, "Hand Crafted by Bischoff," and it's condition is perfect.
