Blenko Tangerine Crackle-glass Vase, C60A

$39 USD Offers ConsideredBlenko Tangerine Crackle-glass Vase, C60A

Glass:20th-century Blenko:1962
This tangerine (amberina) crackle-glass vase, catalog #C60A, was probably designed by Wayne Husted during his tenure as Blenko's designer, in 1962, a year before he moved on in his career. It's a little over 4-3/4" high and has two attached red leaves (photo 2). The pontil is rough (photo 6), and it's in mint condition.
Imperial Glass Red Slag Toothpick Holder, c. 1951--1972

$75 USD Offers ConsideredImperial Glass Red Slag Toothpick Holder, c. 1951--1972

Glass:By Function:Toothpick Holder
The colors in this red slag glass toothpick holder are a virtual rainbow including several shades of red and orange. In some places the opaque white shows as an icy blue, and the orange looks yellow. This toothpick holder is Imperial Glass's "Three in One" pattern (photo 3), made between 1951 and 1972. It's 2.5" high and in mint condition.
Hand-painted Delft Blue Individual Salt & Pepper, 1984

$32 USD Offers ConsideredHand-painted Delft Blue Individual Salt & Pepper, 1984

Collectibles:Salt, Pepper Shakers:Delft Blue
This hand-painted Delft blue salt and pepper set is just the right size as part of a dinner table setting or on a tray for serving a meal to someone in bed. It's 3.5" long, 2" high, and 1.5" wide. There's a single hole in the top of both shakers (photo 2), and both have their original plastic stoppers (photo 4; the mark on the right-hand shaker is a small indentation caused by production, not a chip or other damage). Windmills are painted on one side and blue strokes that resemble grass or other ...
Small Hand-blown Green Pinched Bowl, Vintage

$15 USD Offers ConsideredSmall Hand-blown Green Pinched Bowl, Vintage

Glass:Mid-20th-c. N. American Glass
The wear visible around the bottom of this small green bowl (photos 6 & 7) indicates it was probably produced during the mid-20th century, quite probably by one of the well-known, or not-so-well-known N. American art glass companies. Small "pinches" were made in two alternating levels around the exterior of the bowl (photos 2 & 3). It's 2: high and 4-3/4" in diameter. The pontil was rough but has been ground and polished (photos 5 & 6). Aside from the wear on the bottom, there's no damage.
Hand-blown Clear Crystal Drizzler

$24 USD Offers ConsideredHand-blown Clear Crystal Drizzler

Collectibles:Kitchenware:Drizzler
I'm not sure that this clear glass vessel is really a drizzler, but the very small hole at the tip of the "spout" (photo 3) certainly makes it a good way of drizzling liquids like oil, vinegar, or soy sauce. There's a straw mark on the part where the liquid would be inserted, a small glitch in the glass body (photo 5), and a large bubble in the spout, but there's no damage. The pontil is rough (photo 8), and there's light wear around the edge of the base (photos 7 & 9). In some light, the vessel ...
Hull Pottery Parchment & Pine Large Cornucopia, S-6

$145 USD Offers ConsideredHull Pottery Parchment & Pine Large Cornucopia, S-6

Pottery:By Maker:Hull:Parchment & Pine
I found this beautiful cornucopia vase at the Cato estate sale. It was made by Hull Pottery in their Parchment and Pine pattern; it's the large cornucopia. It's signed "Hull" on the bottom, followed by the design number S-6 (photos 6-8). Also visible on the bottom is a small paper label that identifies it as the property of the Catos, the previous owners (photos 6 & 8). The vase is 12.5" high and 8.5" wide, and in mint condition.
Clear Crystal Footed Hand-blown Decanter

$32 USD Offers ConsideredClear Crystal Footed Hand-blown Decanter

Glass:By Function:Decanter/Pitcher
I purchased this hand-blown clear glass decanter, or pitcher, at a local estate sale because it's so unusual. Although it looks more like a pitcher with its high handle and pulled lip, what looks like some light sanding on the interior, near the rim, suggests that it may once have had a stopper. It stands 11" high, to the top of the hollow attached handle (photo 4), and the round body is 18" in circumference. In Fact, the end of the handle is attached to a round opening in the body of the ...
Vintage Chinese Blue Cloisonne Urn, Paper Label

$235 USD Offers ConsideredVintage Chinese Blue Cloisonne Urn, Paper Label

Collectibles:Oriental:Chinese Cloisonne:Funerary Urn
This vintage Chinese funerary urn has a background of blue cloisonne on the urn and lid. One side has a many-branched limb covered with pink and white cherry blossoms with a hovering butterfly (photo 2); the other is a large camellia blossom with an unopened bud and green leaves (photo 3). On the top of the lid are two more cherry blossoms on branches (photo 4). The inside of the vase and lid are covered by turquoise enamel (photo 6; it looks blue in my picture). The urn is 8" high to the tip of ...
Murano Oversized Cased-glass Peach Goblet, Vintage Label

$75 USD Offers ConsideredMurano Oversized Cased-glass Peach Goblet, Vintage Label

Glass:Mid-20th-c. Murano Art Glass
I'm a little uncertain about how to describe the color of this oversized, cased-glass goblet. The outer layer of the goblet itself is certainly peachy, maybe even close to salmon, while the stem and foot are definitely salmon (photo 4). The goblet is a hair short of 10" in height, and the diameter is 4-1/4". A red-and-white rectangular paper label is still attached to the body of the goblet; there were probably numbers at the top of the label, but they are no longer visible. Only "Hand Blown in ...
Heavy Crystal Scandinavian Engraved Vase, Vintage

$65 USD Offers ConsideredHeavy Crystal Scandinavian Engraved Vase, Vintage

Glass:Scandinavian 20th-century Art Glass
This is one of those heavy crystal vases made by Scandinavian glass factories. This one was probably made by Orrefors or Kosta. Unfortunately, although Scandinavian companies are fairly consistent when it comes to etching the name of the company and the designer on the bottom of their products, wear on the outer perimeter of the base obscures any identifying marks that might be there. A large bird perched on a branch covers one side of the vase (photos 3 & 4); the other is unadorned. The vase is ...
