Pottery : Storage Jar

 

Here we have, a very old, small storage jar. I have no idea as to how old, but with the staining, and light crazing, it shows it's age. It measures 3 1/2" high, and is 2 3/4" wide. Beige or light tan color, with darker staining. It has a couple of small nicks, one on the lip of the jar, and two small pin head nicks on the bottom. There is a chip on the inside of the lid, which is shown, but it is glazed over, and is from manufacturing. No other damage. Great looking piece, and unusually small for a storage jar. Could have been for jelly, or some other table item. Great item to have, as a conversation item, or a pottery collection. No marking that I can find!!!
