Red Enamel Rhinestone Floral Brooch

Many designers numbered their earlier pieces including Sphinx, Trifari and Eisenberg so it's difficult to say who the maker of this superb brooch might be. The substantial setting is gold tone over pot metal with the number 4 and what appears to be an illegible makers mark stamped along side. The leaves are bright red enamel with green, blue yellow and white flowers. Each flower has a ruby red 2 mm rhinestone in the center. Small 2-4 mm rhinestones are scattered throughout the setting, one very small stone missing. This vintage flower brooch measures 2-1/8 x 3-3/8 tall with vintage wear to the enamel as may be expected with age. Just a stunning old brooch from the late 1930's, early 1940's.
