Silver, Italian Plique-a-jour Butterfly

A beautiful silver butterfly, this fellow is marked on the back 800 with a lozenge next to it. The information inside the lozenge is difficult to read but GE is visible making this a product of Genoa, Italy. The enamel is pale blue, Bermuda blue and bright green on the wings. The butterfly head and antennae are solid, the tail is engraved. The silver is sterling cannetille and this pin is simply beautiful. The butterfly measures 1-1/4 x 1-5/8 wide. No signs of wear, he is in excellent condition.
