I love color themes for hearts bracelets and blues/turquoise tones make outstanding statements. This beaute has all the wonderful attributes of a highly collectible heart. The turquoise colored stone is probably synthetic as are lots of stones, in fact the majority of 40's and newer hearts are. It is the perfect robins egg blue shade and positioned as the focal spot. A beautiful border of stylized fleur di lis trail around the perimeter and an oxidized background shows off the embellishment and stone wonderfully.

In addition it is engraved on the back in a beautifully scrolly font, Abe...now that's a name you don't see very often. The engraver added a couple of sweet flourishes above and below the name to highlight it. Engraved names do add substantially to the value of most hearts and make them one of a kind.

An authentic Vintage 1940's piece in pristine condition complete with breathtaking patina, the back is engraved and stamped Sterling.

Measures 9/16 by 3/4 inches.

Most Vintage charm collectors like the patina to be undisturbed, this adds potentially higher value to some charms. Patina is not the same as tarnish... Patina is the soft glow caused by bits of tarnish settling into the natural minute scratches in Sterling Silver that occur overtime. A gentle sweep with a silver cloth will remove unattractive, superfluous tarnish yet leave the depth and dimension of the low areas - nooks & crannies - scratches - or what have you. Using a dip or scouring a charm will remove all of the good deposits of tarnish. Again, your choice by all means but a gentle hand is usually a safer bet when cleaning Vintage Sterling.

Rest assured, all charms at Evetta Hill are guaranteed Vintage and have not been altered in any manner! I do not sell reproduction charms ever - even if they were reproduced from an original Vintage mold. Charms like that are NEW even though they were designed using an old component.

Please note that my photos are highly enlarged and therefore magnify every nuance many of which are not visible to the naked eye.
