Specializing in highly collectible Sterling Charms & Jewelry.
This came from a old European charm bracelet full of a myriad of wonderful charms. I can only guess as to the origin because there aren't any markings and I have never seen this charm again - so email me if you'd like an opinion.
Circa 1950-1960 Sterling although unmarked has tested as such. The loop has a divot that does not go all the way through nor detracts from a secure closure on a chain. Scratches on the silver emblem portion are only visible under heavy magnification as is my photo. Looks perfect in hand.
Measures 3/8 x 5/8 inches.
Most Vintage charm collectors like the patina to be undisturbed, this adds potentially higher value to some charms. Patina is not the same as tarnish... Patina is the soft glow caused by bits of tarnish settling into the natural minute scratches in Sterling Silver that occur overtime. A gentle sweep with a silver cloth will remove unattractive superfluous tarnish yet leave the depth and dimension of the low areas - nooks & crannies - scratches - or what have you. Using a dip or scouring a charm will remove all of the good deposits of tarnish. Again, your choice by all means but a gentle hand is usually a safer bet when cleaning Vintage Sterling.
Rest assured, all charms at Evetta Hill are guaranteed Vintage and have not been altered in any manner! I do not sell reproduction charms ever - even if they were reproduced from an original Vintage mold. Charms like that are NEW even though they were designed using an old component.
Please note that my photos are highly enlarged and therefore magnify every nuance many of which are not visible to the naked eye.
