Vintage Red Enameled Square Charm

Add a spot of color to an all Sterling charm bracelet or even as an end drop to a puffed hearts bracelet.

True red fired vitreous enameling in perfect condition is bordered by a thin slip of silver on the front. The back is stamped for Sterling.

In pristine condition with a soft glowing patina this colorful charm was a token from the Rainbow Girls Vintage 1950's-60's. .

Measures a wee just shy of 3/8" by a 1/2" .

Most Vintage charm collectors like the patina to be undisturbed, this adds potentially higher value to some charms. Patina is not the same as tarnish... Patina is the soft glow caused by bits of tarnish settling into the natural minute scratches in Sterling Silver that occur overtime. A gentle sweep with a silver cloth will remove unattractive superfluous tarnish yet leave the depth and dimension of the low areas - nooks & crannies - scratches - or what have you. Using a dip or scouring a charm will remove all of the good deposits of tarnish. Again, your choice by all means but a gentle hand is usually a safer bet when cleaning Vintage Sterling.
