Vintage Saw Halloween Charm

I like a handsaw charm as part of my Halloween bracelet - but that's just me- it fits in perfectly next to a skeleton, skull, or guillotine. Obviously it works well on a crafters or decorators bracelet too. This little beauty has such charming detail, right down to the jagged toothed edge! The handle is embellished with stippling and a couple of decorative flourishes.

In pristine condition with a warm patina this ca. 70's charm is stamped Sterling .

Measures 1 1/8 inches.

Most Vintage charm collectors like the patina to be undisturbed, this adds potentially higher value to some charms. Patina is not the same as tarnish... Patina is the soft glow caused by bits of tarnish settling into the natural minute scratches in Sterling Silver that occur overtime. A gentle sweep with a silver cloth will remove unattractive superfluous tarnish yet leave the depth and dimension of the low areas - nooks & crannies - scratches - or what have you. Using a dip or scouring a charm will remove all of the good deposits of tarnish. Again, your choice by all means but a gentle hand is usually a safer bet when cleaning Vintage Sterling.
