A stunning Vintage Whiting and Davis Alumesh purse is presented. This vintage designer handbag appears to have never been used and is in absolutely mint condition! Circa 1930’s-40’s, this Whiting and Davis Alumesh purse measures 10 ¾ inches in width and 7 inches in height, including the Vintage plastic frame. It has a depth of 2 inches. Alumesh was a process that produced enameled aluminum and purses utilizing this, had the look and feel of a vintage beaded purse, being quite pliable. This particular Whiting and Davis Alumesh purse is a perfect example of this process. It is soft and pliable, allowing for carrying of all your necessities! The color of the body of the Whiting and Davis purse is an off white with the enameled mesh being designed and constructed with precision. BE SURE TO SEE ALL PHOTOS.

Unusual in this type of Whiting and Davis purse, the handle is as well designed and constructed of the same Alumesh process, measuring 10 inches in length and is fashioned through the vintage plastic frame via large brass rings.

The frame is a pearlized Vintage Plastic in a shade a bit darker than the body of this vintage purse. There are two rounded horizontally molded knobs that click closed perfectly! This closure truly has an Art Deco appearance because of the horizontal molded design around the entire circumference and the symmetric looking point they come to on top.

The lining is a satin light amber colored lining with an inside pocket, complete with the change purse. The lining is in mint condition as well.

There is the original hanging label inside the Whiting and Davis purse, which says: Whiting & Davis Mesh Bags, Made in USA. (see photos) This label is fully intact. This entire vintage Alumesh purse, as stated above, appears to have never been used.
